Fraxel® Laser
what is Fraxel® Laser ...
Fraxel® Laser is a fractional skin resurfacing treatment used to improve the texture, tone, and overall appearance of the skin. It’s a non-surgical, non-invasive laser procedure that stimulates your skin’s natural healing processes to produce new collagen and elastin — key proteins that help keep skin firm and smooth.
Fraxel isn’t a one-size-fits-all laser. It uses fractional laser technology, meaning it targets tiny columns of skin while leaving surrounding tissue untouched. This speeds healing and reduces downtime compared with older resurfacing lasers.
how does it work ...
Fraxel works by delivering microscopic laser beams (fractional photothermolysis) into the skin’s layers. These beams create controlled “micro-injuries” beneath the surface — triggering your body’s natural repair response. As your skin heals, collagen and elastin production increase, which helps improve skin quality over time. The result is new, healthier skin replacing damaged cells over a few weeks.
Many Fraxel systems (like Fraxel® Dual) use two different wavelengths:
- One to penetrate deep into the skin (targeting wrinkles, texture, and scarring).
- The other works closer to the surface (targeting pigmentation and sun damage).
what does it treat ...
Fraxel is commonly used to target a range of skin concerns, including:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sun damage and age spots
- Uneven skin tone and pigmentation
- Acne scars and surgical scars
- Rough texture or dull skin
- Enlarged pores
- Stretch marks (in some cases)
benefits ...
Skin Rejuvenation
Fraxel improves the appearance of skin without cutting or injections, ideal if you want smoother, fresher skin without surgical downtime.
Collagen Stimulation
By triggering your body’s own collagen production, Fraxel can help firm skin and reduce signs of aging over time.
Improves Texture and Tone
It can smooth wrinkles, soften acne scars, even out pigmentation, and deliver an overall more radiant complexion.
Fractional Technology = Faster Healing
Fractional beams treat only portions of the skin, helping preserve healthy tissue and speed recovery compared with older laser resurfacing methods.
is there any downtime ...
Most people experience redness, warmth, mild swelling, and flaky/peeling skin for several days. “Sunburn-like” sensations and mild peeling are common. You’ll generally need to avoid sun exposure, wear high SPF, and follow aftercare instructions closely.
